Playstation 4 players are about to get hit with an event for SMITE 20 million players, starting from the 3rd of June to the 6th of June. It is to celebrate SMITE 20 million players. The reward is 50 gems for completing 3 First Wins of the Day. That is 50 gems per win totaling 150 gems!

What is SMITE?

SMITE, a third-person multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), is free–to–play video game developed and published by Hi-Rez Studios for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Following SMITE Gameplay, multi-players control a god, goddess, or other mythological figures. Then team-based combat occurred. Every player uses their abilities and tactics against other players. Every player controls their gods and non-player-controlled minions.

SMITE has a PVP mode, multiplayer versus player. It includes many playable characters like mentioned above. SMITE has a successful esports scene. There are multiple tournaments designed in the game. There is also included an annual million-dollar SMITE world championship.

On May 31^st, 2012, the game was made available for the first time to the public. The transitioning into open beta was made available on January 24^th, 2013. Officially, the game was released on March 25^th, 2014. During the course, the game reached 4 million players in June 2014 from 3 million initial reach.

2015 was the real boom of the game as it was played by about 10 million players. 20 million players were attracted to the game when Hi-Rez announced the game in June 2016. Revenue of 300 million dollars was generated with a surpassed 30 million players in 2019. In April 2020, it was announced by Hi-Rez that the game had over 40 million players.
