What’s Next For Call Of Duty?

Call Of Duty

Call Of Duty is a huge gaming franchise. It’s been the most popular online shooter since Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It continues to rake in the customers with the easy, yet fun gameplay and variety of different modes for all sorts of players. This year will see the release of COD: Black Ops II, second game in the Black Ops series. But where is COD headed?

The Modern Warfare trilogy was wrapped up last year, with Infinity Ward’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. While this year, this is only the second entry in the Black Ops series, we will most likely see Infinity Ward developing next year’s COD title. But where will they take the series?

It seems as if Infinity Ward is already hiring for this new game, looking to hire people for an Unreal Engine 4 game. But what will this game be like? It’s possible that they could take over the Black Ops series, seeing as it is set in the future and is still a new setting to the COD series. They could go back to World War 2 (bad move), or maybe even World War 1, now that would be interesting.

No matter where they take COD, or if they choose to continue the Modern Warfare series, Infinity Ward will no doubt continue pumping out Call Of Duty games. Modern Warfare 4 would be an extremely safe bet, but I think Infinity Ward might just surprise us and go for something new, it would certainly be a welcome change.
